Pebblefield Privacy Policy

Effective 31 October 2026

Pebblefield is a puzzle game for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts, we do not collect your name or contact details, and we never sell your information. Data only leaves your device to back up your progress (your own iCloud, or Android's backup), rank your scores on the leaderboards, confirm purchases, show the ads you choose to watch, and (if you leave it on) send anonymous usage statistics. The photos you use in Photo Puzzle never leave your phone.

Who we are

Pebblefield is made by an independent developer. You can contact us at pebblefield@hotmail.com.

Information stored on your device

Your game progress (your world, Glints, streaks, moods, achievements and settings) is saved on your phone. It is included in your phone's normal backups: iPhone backups, or Android's own app backup to your Google account if you have it turned on. If you copy a backup code from the game, the code contains the same progress and goes wherever you choose to paste it.

Photo Puzzle

If you play Photo Puzzle, you choose a photo from your library (or take one, on iPhone). The game asks for permission first, and only sees the photo you pick. The framed photo and its pixel-art version are kept on your phone, in the game's own storage, so you can play them again and see them in your gallery. They are never uploaded or sent to us or anyone else. If you choose Share or save, the picture goes only where you send it. Deleting a photo in the game, or deleting the app, removes them.

iCloud (iPhone)

If you are signed in to iCloud, Pebblefield saves a copy of your progress in your private iCloud storage so it can appear on your other Apple devices. This copy is stored by Apple in your iCloud account. We cannot see or access it. You can turn this off in the iPhone Settings app under your name, then iCloud.

Game Center (iPhone)

If you sign in to Game Center, your scores are sent to Apple's Game Center, where other players can see them on the leaderboards next to your Game Center nickname: your ranked Blitz of the Day score, the scores you bank (weekly and all-time boards), and your best Pebble Dash times (with the size of the board each time was set on). Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We only see the rankings that Game Center shows to every player. You can sign out in the iPhone Settings app under Game Center; the game works without it.

Leaderboards (Android)

On Android, the Blitz of the Day and the weekly board of banked scores come from our own leaderboard. When you finish a ranked Blitz or bank a score, it is sent to the leaderboard with a random player id made by the app and a generated name, such as "Quiet Heron 42", which other players see on the board. Your place on these boards decides the Glints prizes the game pays. No account, email or real name is involved, and we do not keep your internet address. The leaderboard is hosted for us by Cloudflare. Scores are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Player ID and gifts

Settings shows a Player ID: the same random id the app makes for the leaderboards, with no link to your name or accounts. If you win a challenge or ask us for help, you can send it to us so we can send you a gift (Glints or days of the Commuter Pass). To collect gifts, the game checks with our leaderboard server (hosted by Cloudflare) whether any are waiting for that id, when it opens. We only keep the gifts we send and whether they were collected.

Anonymous usage statistics

If you leave "Share anonymous usage" on (in the game's Settings), the game sends anonymous signals about which features are used, such as finishing the tutorial or watching an optional ad, to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in the EU. They carry a random identifier created on your device, which TelemetryDeck hashes again, and never your name, Apple ID, Google account, location or device identifiers. If something goes wrong in the game, the same anonymous signal can carry a short error report (where in the game it happened and the first words of the error message), so we can find and fix the problem; it never includes your progress, photos or anything you typed. They are not used for advertising or shared with anyone else. You can switch this off at any time in Settings. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple on iPhone and by Google Play on Android. We never receive your payment details. To confirm purchases and to know whether a Commuter Pass subscription is active, the game uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase receipts from Apple or Google along with a random identifier created for the app. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID or Google account. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Ads

Pebblefield only shows an ad when you choose to watch one for a bonus. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google may collect:

Google uses this to show ads, measure them, and prevent fraud. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice at any time from the game's menu under "Ad privacy choices". On iPhone you can also turn off tracking for all apps in the Settings app under Privacy & Security, then Tracking; on Android, open the Settings app, then Privacy (or Google), then Ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

What we do not do

Children

Pebblefield is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights, and deleting your data

Because we do not hold personal information about you, there is usually nothing for us to access or delete. Deleting the app removes the progress and photos saved on your device. To remove the iCloud copy, go to the iPhone Settings app, then your name, iCloud, Manage Storage, Pebblefield. Turning off "Share anonymous usage" stops the usage statistics and error reports.

Leaderboard scores (Android). These are deleted automatically after 90 days. To have yours removed sooner, email pebblefield@hotmail.com with your player name (shown under the leaderboards in the game) and we will delete your scores within 30 days.

For information held by Apple, Google, RevenueCat or TelemetryDeck, see their policies linked above, or contact us and we will help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
